Hatton's All-time Haul
Tasmanian Robyn Hatton may have never scored better on her home course than she did in Week 12 of the Genesis Golf Link Cup.
Making her regular Tuesday visit to Mowbray Golf Club just north of Launceston, Robyn caught fire and produced a season-defining 34,785 Genesis Golf Link Cup points to capture third place in B Grade.
“I had 43 points,” she said.
“Everything just went right, the putts fell, it was probably one of my best games ever.”
“I think it could be my best [at Mowbray].”
Robyn’s red-hot performance playing off 15 brought her handicap down to 13 which is as low as she has been in recent memory.
“My GA went from 14.1 to 13.”
“I did get down to 13 a few years ago but I only had one game on that before I went back out.”
A member at Mowbray for the past 15 years, Robyn is also paid up at Tam O'Shanter Golf Club – a nine-hole layout on Tasmania’s north coast – where she typically plays on Saturdays.
Working to Robyn’s advantage in Week 12 was her grouping; she played alongside Denise Burns who is both her pennant and club foursomes teammate.
“If we have a special teams competition I usually partner [with her],” Robyn said.
Robyn and Denise are Division One Tasmanian Women’s Pennant teammates for Mowbray and also shared the spoils of the club’s Division One flag in 2013.
While they’ve experienced the holy grail of Tasmanian club teams golf, they may yet get the chance to savour a trip to Sydney in November for the 2018 Genesis Golf Link Cup National Final.
